Mark Savill and Jane Desforges both have long careers in estate agency and property. Mark graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Estate Management in 1986 spending 7 years in the public and commercial property world before entering the residential sector in 1994. In his time in estate agency he worked his way from up Sales Negotiator to Area Director with one of the UK's largest estate agency chains. He left to set up novahomes in 2006. Said Mark "property has always been my love but people are my passion. The sheer sense of satisfaction that comes from putting a chain together and then seeing all those people move into their new homes is what this job is all about." Jane Desforges has enjoyed 12 years in the industry managing offices that both sell houses as well as lettings and property management.
Jane is a stickler for service and is adamant that the cheapness of the fee should in no way reflect the quality of the customer experience. "Many of our buyers and sellers have told us that dealing with novahomes has been a breath of fresh air. We are not aggressive sales people and we pride ourselves on doing the best job possible to help buyers and sellers alike. We may not charge a lot of money but we are very good at getting people moved.

Jane Desforges of novahomes provided us with a professional, honest and friendly service. Initially Jane valued our house, she gave us a price list for similar properties, which she had researched to give us an informed estimate of the valuation. She also gave us a list of top ten tips for presenting your home to sell which we found useful.

Jane marketed our property really well, she used a lot of photographs in both the website advert, and in our particulars.

We were very pleased about this, as we had found when looking at properties for sale ourselves, that the more pictures there were in the advert, the more interested we became in the property.

Jane called prospective buyers for us and emailed people who were interested in similar properties to ours, as soon as our property was on the market. We had a few particular streets in mind of where we hoped to purchase, Jane sent letters out to each entire street. She got responses from people considering selling, which we would otherwise have been unaware of.

Jane was happy to acompany viewings, not only when we were out, but while we were at home as well. This was really helpful as we have children - it's not always easy to show people around when taking care of the children at the same time.

We would highly recommend novahomes to anyone who has had problems with estate agencies in the past, as Jane is honest and always confirms any procedures with us before going ahead.

She kept us properly informed with any updates, and we were never left wondering about anything. Jane is efficient in her dealings and swift with her responses. We have already recommended novahomes to friends and family, who have agreed that the service provided is of an extremely high standard and is less expensive.

Selling our home with novahomes has been a pleasant experience, which was far less stressful than we had anticipated selling our home would be. This is due to our agents experience, particularly her excellent communication skills and customer care, and for such a reasonable price. A really professional service.

OMBUDSMAN FOR ESTATE AGENTS SURVEY RESULTS

All Ombudsman registered firms have to follow the code of conduct laid out by the OEA. All firms are regularly surveyed to make sure that the code is being adhered to. As part of that survey the firm is scored to see what the customers thought about the service received. Our survey took place in December 07 and was conducted for the OEA by Referenceline Limited. They reported scores and comments as follows:

Friendly 10 out of 10 "was friendly and understood my requirements"
Knowledgeable 9.9 out of 10 "showed a good knowledge of local market conditions
Helpful 9.9 out of 10 "helped in the negotiations between buyer and seller"
