A Photo Speaks A Thousand Words

A Photo Speaks A Thousand Words

Have you ever heard the saying a picture is worth a thousand words. This is certainly true when it comes to marketing your property, increasingly so in this modern age where tablets, smartphones and desktops are dominating how potential buyers make decisions when looking to buy property.

Couple this with the emergence of social media marketing formats such as Facebook and Twitter and you can understand why the quality of photography is becoming so important.

When searching online the majority of buyers place initial emphasis on number of bedrooms, location and price range. However, after that they will often be presented with hundreds of results in summary view with a short description and a few select images.

To look at every property in detail would take hours so buyers have to be selective. What is the main factor that makes a potential viewer online select which property they will click on beyond the summary? Images!

It is accepted that light interior space is high on a buyers wish list and poor quality photography with standard consumer grade lenses and relatively narrow angles of view will never capture the true size of a room, your eyes naturally glance from side to side when entering a room so your perceived field of view is wider than your eyes actually see. A quality camera with a wide angle lens gives a much more realistic impression of what it is like to walk into your home.

So although a good photographer with the right equipment can be creative and capture quality images it is equally important to take time to prepare your home so that the images presented to the outside world are ones that you can be proud of. A good quality camera in the hands of an experienced property photographers can do many things but it cannot put the washing away, clean your windows or de clutter your work surfaces!
